StrideMirror
A mirror for your walking.
Turn a short walking clip into movement metrics — privately, on your phone. StrideMirror reads your stride rhythm, gait phases, and posture using on-device pose detection. No accounts, no uploads, no ads.
How it works
- Film a 10–30 second walking clip from the side or front.
- Analyze entirely on your iPhone — no data leaves the device.
- Observe your walking rhythm and posture, and watch trends over time.
Not a medical device
StrideMirror is a personal observation tool. It is not a medical device and is not intended to diagnose, treat, or prevent any disease or condition. If you have any concern about your walking or your health, please consult a licensed healthcare professional.

Frequently asked
- How do I record a good walking clip?
- Prop your phone about 3 meters away, ideally from your side, and walk past it for 10–30 seconds in good light. Wear fitted clothing so your hips and knees are visible. Keep the full body in frame.
- What does the score (0–4) mean?
- It's a personal observation note about how steady your walk looks across several measurements (cadence, stride-time variability, symmetry, posture). 0 means rhythm looks consistent; 4 means several measurements are outside common ranges and a chat with a clinician may be worthwhile. It is not a diagnosis; see the References section in the app for sources.
- Does StrideMirror upload my videos or any data?
- No. The app has no backend, no account, and no analytics. All processing happens on your iPhone. Your videos stay in your photo library and your walking history lives only in this app on your phone. See our privacy policy for details.
- The Simulator says pose detection isn't available — why?
- Apple's Vision body-pose model only ships on real iOS devices, not the iOS Simulator. Please run StrideMirror on a real iPhone or iPad.
- How can I delete a walking record?
- Go to the History tab and swipe left on the record. The data is removed immediately and permanently from your device.
- Can I use this for someone else's walking?
- Yes — the app works on any single person walking in the clip. We just ask that you have the person's permission before recording them.
